My experience with children

Over 1.5 years working with children and families, my journey started in 2024 where I studied my Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care as a trainee and completed my course in 2025. During this time, I worked with children across all age groups from 0-6 years at a childcare centre that catered to over 150 children.

I planned and participated in activities based on each child's interests and developmental needs, helping to create fun and engaging learning experiences. I also assisted with daily routines, nappy changes, meal times, milk bottles and feeding, nap times, group time, behaviour management guidance, problem solving and communication skills for managing conflict, and maintained a clean and safe environment. 

Since 2026, I've been running my own small babysitting business where I've been helping families with babysitting and transport services throughout the Sutherland Shire and surrounding suburbs. Through this, I have built strong, trusting relationships with families and provided consistent, ongoing weekly care, supporting their daily routines, assisting with mealtimes, nap times, homework, providing engaging activities, and fun outings/park visits. I ensure regular communication with parents and families during each booking, providing updates on children’s routines, activities, wellbeing and development.

This experience helped me develop a strong understanding of child development, positive behaviour guidance and the importance of providing each child with patient, nurturing and individualised care. I enjoy building positive relationships with children and creating an environment where they feel safe, comfortable and encouraged to learn and explore.
